300g fresh bitter melon
250 ml hot water
1. Cut fresh bitter melon into thinly slices. Sun dry or bake it at 200°C until dried.
2. Put 40g dried bitter melon in a cup. Pour in hot water. Cover for 15 minutes and serve hot.
The juice of the bitter melon, especially the smaller and bitter variety, is a traditional remedy for managing diabetes. It is best taken in the morning on an empty stomach. The seeds are included to increase the potency.
